The 2010 Lecture Day will be given by Professor Michael Wheeler, Visiting Professor at Southampton University, on the subject of the King James Bible, on Wednesday 5 May, 10.00am to 3.00pm in the Nave of Lichfield Cathedral.  The Lecture Day is free and open to members of the public. 

The programme for the Day is as follows

10.00 am       Lecture1:      The Making of the King James Bible  

11.00 am       Break (coffee available)

11.30  am      Lecture 2:     The Literary Heritage of the King James Bible

12.30 pm       Lunch (bring sandwiches)

1.30 pm         Lecture 3:     The Artistic Heritage of the King James Bible

LCCS HomepageA new website for the Lichfield Centre of Christian Studies (LCCS) has now been launched. LCCS is a partnership between the Diocese of Lichfield, Lichfield Cathedral and Staffordshire University, and chiefly serves as a centre for theological education, offering an MA course and hosting one-off Lecture Days on a variety of Christian subjects. The Centre is also involved in the Lichfield Unplugged project, which is investigating how wireless technology might be used in Lichfield Cathedral.

071101a-t.jpgThe University of Staffordshire, the Diocese of Lichfield and its Cathedral have signed a ground-breaking agreement to establish the Lichfield Centre for Christian Studies, a ground-breaking partnership which will offer an MA course in ‘Theology, Context and the Pastoral Imagination’.

The agreement was signed at a lunchtime reception yesterday at the University’s Lichfield campus, by the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Staffordshire University, Professor Christine King; the Dean of Lichfield, the Very Revd Adrian Dorber; and the Bishop of Lichfield, the Rt Revd Jonathan Gledhill.
